Men's Golf Finishes in Tie for Second Place at Princeton Invitational

Princeton, N.J. - The Princeton men's golf team finished in a tie for second place at the Princeton Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers lost the tiebreaker to Georgetown, who also had a two-day total of 285, because the Hoya's' fifth player scored better than Princeton's fifth player did. Nat Hoopes led the Tigers with a tie for sixth place, as he had a two-day score of 144 (70-74). Teammate James Milam finished at +4 (par is 71), Peter McWhorter at +5, Greg Johnson at +8 and Cassidy Traub carded a 152. Princeton's second team, which consisted of Chris Connolly, Billy Butcher, Jon Nuger, Eben Harrell and Steve Edwards, finished in 15th place with a two-day score of 614. Edwards trimmed nine strokes off his opening-round score of 87, as he shot a 78 at Springdale Golf Club on Saturday.
Penn State's Andy Latowski won the individual title by edging out Rutgers' Kevin Campana in the tiebreaker, and the Nittany Lions won the team title by eight strokes (277). The Tigers play at the Ivy League Championships next weekend.
