WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. - Max Krance hit his first home run of the season in Princeton's 11-2 loss to Monmouth on Thursday. Princeton dropped to 14-18 overall while Monmouth pulled even at 17-17.
Thomas Pauly, Mark Siano and Nathan Miller held the Hawks to three hits over the last five innings after Monmouth scored four runs in the first and second innings and three runs in third.
Nick Pappas (0-1) gave up seven runs on nine hits and struck out one over 1.1 innings in his first start of the season. Brian Biegen gave up four runs on five hits and struck out two in 1.2 innings in relief.
Jon Watterson had an RBI single in the second inning and Krance hit his first home run of the year to lead off the sixth inning.
Jay Law hit his seventh and eighth home runs of the year for Monmouth. Law went 3 for 5 with four RBIs in the game.
Princeton returns to Ivy League action this weekend at Penn. The Tigers play a doubleheader on Apr. 21 and 22 at 12:00 p.m.
