INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Danielle Stramandi, a Lawrenceville, N.J., native, has been selected for the six-member U.S. diving team that will compete at the World University Games. Stramandi, a senior, is a two-time all-America selection and the Princeton record-holder in the one-meter springboard (309.00 dual meet).
Earlier this year, Stramandi placed fourth on the platform at the 2001 Indoor National Diving Championships and third on the platform at the 2001 NCAA Division I Championships. Stramandi's third-place finish was the top individual performance at the nationals in Princeton's swimming and diving history and helped the Tigers finish 25th overall.
Placings at the 2001 Indoor Nationals (April 17-22, Midland Texas) were used to select team members. The top male and female on the 3-meter and platform made the squad, as well as the top combined male and female on both boards.
