Princeton Tennis Honored by ITA for Academic Achievement

Skillman, N.J. - The ITA, a non-profit organization that serves as the governing body of collegiate tennis, announced it's 2001 All-Academic Teams and ITA Scholar-Athletes. Both the Princeton men's and women's tennis teams were selected as ITA All-Academic programs and several athletes received individual recognition for outstanding academic achievements.
Nick Benjamin, Will Parlett, Darren Joe and Judson Williams were all named ITA Scholar-Athletes. Judson Williams had a spectacular season, going undefeated against Ivy League competition, for which he was name first-team All-Ivy. Nick Benjamin and Darren Joe have been with the Princeton program for three years and will compete as seniors next season. Will Parlett graduated this past June.
Senior Anne Coates, who served as team captain, was one of two Princeton women athletes named ITA Scholar-Athletes. Priya Bhupathi, who will return for her final season was the second Tiger to received recognition for her academic achievements.
