Princeton head coach Roger Hughes:
It was a huge win for program. This is the best team we've beaten to this point. [Sophomore quarterback Matt] Verbit did nice job in relief of Dave. I am proud of our effort. We were physical. We were tough. The kids gained confidence no matter what happened.
[The first play of the game] went as we planned. They lined up as we expected and it went exactly how we planned.
Quarterback Dave Splithoff:
Both [touchdown passes] were great plays. I found Andy on the deep post on the first one, and the second one I just got B.J. the ball. He made great plays. The coaches did a great job of game-planning. We thought we could take chances and make the most of them.
Linebacker Zak Keasey:
We wanted this really badly after the last two years. The defense had something to prove, that we could match up with them.
Colgate coach Dick Biddle:
My hat's off to Princeton. They played a great game. I am disappointed we lost, but I am proud of my team, how we fought back and overcame adversity. The critical play was 3rd and 1 with 3 minutes to go, when McCune rolled out and they called the clip and we had to punt. We had too many penalties.
Colgate quarterback Tom McCune:
We have the skill, but we haven't stepped up. [Zak] Keasey blitzed on the pass all day, and he did a good job putting pressure on me and made some nice plays in the running game."
