Tigers Hold Second At EISL Men's Swimming Championships

Cambridge, Mass. - Princeton junior Jesse Gage captured an EISL individual title with his win in the 50-yard freestyle and the Tigers picked up 421 team points to hold second place at the 2002 EISL Championships in Cambridge, Mass. Host Harvard has the lead after day one of competition with 465 points and Ivy foe Yale sits in third with 348 points.
The Tigers took and early 64-56 lead over Harvard with a win in the first event of the day, the 200-yard freestyle relay. Gage, senior Nathan Rebuck, junior Jamie Leahy and sophomore Mike Sclerno swam a winning time of 1:22.53 for the Orange and Black.
Princeton wrapped up the first day of events the same waay it began things, with another relay win. Gage won his third EISL title of the day as a member of the 400 medley relay team. Gage was joined by classmates Pat Donahue, Carl Hessler and Garth Fealey on the winners' stand.
EISL action continues with day two preliminary events beginning at 11 a.m. tomorrow in Cambridge.
