Cambridge, Mass. - Juniors Jesse Gage and Garth Fealey each set school records as Princeton sits in second place after two days of action at the EISL Championships in Cambridge, Mass. The Tigers are within striking distance of first-place Harvard heading into the third and final day with 976 team points, 42.5 behind the Crimson.
Gage won an EISL individual title for the second straight night, setting a meet record and bettering his own school record of 47.84 with a time of 47.81 in the 100-yard butterfly. Fealey won the 100-yard breaststroke in record-smashing fashion, eclipsing Richard Korhammer's 13-year old mark of 54.43 by touching in at 54.30. Korhhammer held both the championship record and Princeton record.
The Tigers won another relay title, this time in the 200-yard freestyle with the all-junior lineup of Gage, Fealey, Pat Donahue and Jamie Leahy swimming a time of 1:28.99 and setting a Blodgett Pool record in the event.
The EISL Championships conclude tomorrow with preliminary events beginning at 11 a.m. and finals starting at 6 p.m.
