Kent DeMond Wins Platform Competition At NCAA Zonals

Annapolis, Md. - Princeton earned three NCAA qualifiers at the 2002 Zone A Championships in Annapolis. Md. over the weekend. Kent DeMond, Katherine Mattison and Daneille Stramandi qualified with strong performances on the boards at Legeune Hall.
DeMond won the men's platform competition with 513.85 points, a full 140 points better than second-place Michael Wells from Pittsburgh. DeMond placed seventh in the 1-meter competion and finished eighth on the 3-meter board.
Stramandi won the women's platform competition with 412.60 points. Mattison finished second on the 3-meter board with 456.80 points and placed ninth in in the 1-meter competition.
The Princeton women swim at the NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas on Thursday-Saturday, March 21-23 and the men compete at the NCAA Championships in Athens, Ga. on Thursday-Saturday, March 28-30.
