Women's Water Polo Defeats Indiana 11-6 and Michigan 17-16

Adele McCarthy-Beauvais scored eight goals against Michigan on-route to a 17-16 Princeton victory. The Tigers also defeated the Hoosiers of Indiana, 11-6. Princeton was on a four-game losing streak prior to the win over Indiana and currently stands at 13-5 on the season.
McCarthy-Beauvais had a team-high four goals against Indiana. Cassie Nichols, Jenny Edwards and Annie Olson each had two goals. Courtney Welsh registered one. Madeline McCarthy had 14 saves in goal.
Princeton entered halftime up 6-1 and outscored the Hoosiers 4-1 in the fourth quarter. "We stumbled a bit in the third [quarter]," say head coach Luis Nicolao. "But we came back and controlled the rest of the game. It was a good performance and it was good to get the win."
In a game where both teams had players ejected from the game, Princeton defeated Michigan 17-16. McCarthy-Beauvais had eight goals. Edwards and Nichols each had three while Olson had one. Kelly Melia-Teevan also registered one goal. McCarthy had 13 saves.
Sophomore Courtney Welsh had a spectacular game at the 2 meter position and help control the Wolverines' attack.
"It was a hard fought game," says Nicolao. "I'm really proud of our team, they really played hard."
