Women's Hockey Places Three On All-Ivy Teams

PRINCETON, N.J. - This season the Princeton women's hockey team skated to its best Ivy League mark since 1996-97 by posting a 6-4 league record and a third place finish. The Tigers have placed three players on All-Ivy teams, which were announced on March 7. Aviva Grumet-Morris (Sr., Evanston, IL) and Megan Van Beusekom (So., Loretto, MN) were named first-team All-Ivy, while Gretchen Anderson (So., Natick, MA) was a second-team All-Ivy selection.
Grumet-Morris is fourth on the team in scoring, and is first among defensemen with a career-high 22 points (5g, 17a). She registered a goals and six assists during league play this season. Grumet-Morris, a co-captain has anchored the Princeton defense this season and was a second-team All-Ivy selection as a junior.
Van Beusekom allowed just 2.56 goals per game in Ivy play this season. She also finished second in the league with a .915 save percentage. Van Beusekom is 9-6-0 this season and has appeared in 15 games between the pipes for the Tigers and has a 2.35 goals-against average and a .918 save percentage.
Anderson leads the team in scoring with 35 points (23g, 12a), including 14 points (9g, 5a) during Ivy League action this season.
Princeton (15-9-3, 10-6-0 ECAC North) is seeded fourth going into the ECAC North playoffs, and will host No. 5 Harvard (16-10-2, 9-5-2 ECAC North) in a best of three game series beginning on March 8. Those games are scheduled for 7 p.m. at Hobey Baker Rink. Four teams will advance to the 2002 JPMorgan Chase Hockey Championship on March 16-17, hosted by Dartmouth College.
