Women's Water Polo Goes 3-0 at CWPA League Weekend

Washington, D.C. - Jenny Edwards scored six goals as the Tigers defeated the Colonials of George Washington 9-4 in their first competition of the CWPA weekend. Princeton met Villanova in the second match of the day and defeated the Wildcats 15-7. In the final match of Saturday, Princeton powered past Bucknell 19-4.
Cassie Nichols tallied two goals and freshman Kelly Melia-Teevan scored one along side Edwards' six as the Tigers defeated George Washington 9-4. Nichols also added two assists, Joanna Armstrong had one assist and Adele McCarthy Beauvais had two. Freshman, Madeline McCarthy played the entire game in net for the Tigers and registered seven saves. Princeton trailed 2-1 at the end of the first quarter yet fought back in the second quarter to enter halftime up 3-2. Edwards continued to demolish the opponent's net tallying a team-high five goals against Villanova in the second match of the day. McCarthy-Beauvais registered four goals, Nichols had three, Annie Olson had one and freshman, Kathryn Parolin had two. McCarthy and Lauren Lister each played a half in front of the net for the Tigers. McCarthy had two saves in the first half and Lister picked up four saves in the second half.
Princeton continue to pour on the offense in the final game of the day as the Tigers defeated the Bison of Bucknell, 19-4. McCarthy-Beauvais had a team-high five goals in the victory. Edwards registered three while Nichols and Melinda Martin each had two. Joanna Armstrong, Olson, Alexis Olle, Jessie Garton, Melia-Teevan, and Julie Miller each had one goal apiece. Nichols and Courtney Welsh each had three assists. McCarthy and Lister split the game in the net each tallying four saves.
