Vaughan Named NJCBA Co-Pitcher of the Week

PRINCETON, NJ - Jason Vaughan (Fr., Garland, TX) has been named the New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association's Co-Pitcher of the Week. He shares the honor with Seton Hall's Matt Skrypack. Vaughan was the IvyLeagueSports.com Pitcher of the Week on April 9.
Vaughan hurled a complete nine-inning, four-hit shutout in Princeton's 7-0 win over Brown on Saturday. The freshman southpaw recorded three strikeouts in the win as he picked up his second consecutive shutout. He pitched a one-hitter over 8.1 innings in a 1-0 win over Dartmouth on April 7, his last appearance.
Vaughan has not allowed an earned run in 18.1 inning, and has given up just 12 hits in the last 23.1 innings. In six appearances, Vaughan has thrown 33.1 innings, given up 31 hits, 18 earned runs and recorded 14 strikeouts. He has a 4.86 ERA.
Princeton (13-16, 8-4 Ivy) will travel to Seton Hall for a 3 p.m. game on Thursday. The Tigers will then face their most important series of the season to date, when they travel to New York for a four-game series against Gehrig Division rival Columbia. The two teams are currently tied at the top of the division standings. Saturday's doubleheader will begin at 1 p.m. and first pitch on Sunday is scheduled for noon.
