Men's Golf Team Places Seventh At Rutherford Intercollegiate

State College, Pa. - The Princeton University men's golf team shot rounds of 303, 286 and 302 en route to a seventh-place finish at the 2002 Rutherford Intercollegiate in State College, Pa. The Tigers scored a two-day 891 on Penn State's Blue Golf Course to end its regular season with four straight Top-10 finishes.
Cassidy Traub led Princeton with a three-round score of 220. His second-round score of 67 was his lowest of year and the lowest Tiger round at the tournament. James Milam shot steady rounds of 74-74-73 to finish with a 221 and Creighton Page finished strongly after his first-round 83 to shoot a two-day total of 226.
Princeton's Jon Nuger was consistent over three rounds, scoring a 76 in each and Greg Johnson rounded out the Tigers' scoring with a 54-hole score of 236. Penn State won the title for the 16th straight year, scoring a team total of 859. Maryland was second (872) and UNC-Wilmington finished third (875).
The Tigers, after winning the Ivy League Championship last weekend, will now prepare for the NCAA Regional which begin on May 16.
