Water Polo Finishes Fourth at Easterns

Princeton, N.J. - Women's water polo dropped its final contest of the season to Indiana, 11-10 in the third-place game of the Eastern Tournament. With the loss, the Tigers finished in fourth place and wrapped up their season at 23-11.
The Tigers opened a 2-1 lead going into the second quarter but the Hoosiers pulled the score even as the teams enter halftime at 3-3. The Hoosiers scored six goals in the third quarter to open a 9-6 lead entering the final quarter and the Tigers were never able to catch-up.
Adele McCarthy-Beauvais scored four goals to lead the Tigers. Jenny Edwards and Annie Olson each scored two goals while Joanna Armstrong and Cassie Nichols each scored one.
Michigan captured the Easterns championship by defeating Hartwick 7-6 in sudden-death over time.
