The Game - Princeton meets Rider in non-conference action before resuming the Ivy League portion of its schedule with doubleheaders against Harvard and Dartmouth this weekend.
Streaking - Princeton is riding a six-game winning streak following its four-game sweep of Pennsylvania last weekend. The streak began with two wins at William & Mary to close out the spring trip.
Last Meeting - The Tigers handed the Broncs a 17-16 loss at Clarke Field on April 4, 2001. That game lasted over three hours and featured 40 hits, 11 errors and nine pitchers. Princeton trailed 10-2 after three innings. Bill Broome earned the win by giving up one run on two hits with one strikeout in 1.2 innings.
A Look Back - Princeton won its sixth-straight Gehrig Division title in 2001 with a 14-6 record. The Tigers defeated Rolfe Division winner Dartmouth in a three-game series to advance to the NCAA tournament. Princeton closed out the season with a 23-25 record.
A Look Ahead - Princeton will host doubleheaders against Harvard and Brown this weekend for its last home games before opening a 10-game road trip at Rutgers on April 9. That trip will include games at Brown, Yale, Seton Hall and Columbia.
Century Club - Princeton's 14-5 win at William & Mary on March 23 gave Tiger head coach Scott Bradley his 100th career win. In his first four seasons at Princeton, Bradley led the Tigers to a 97-79 mark, four Gehrig Division titles, two Ivy League championships and two NCAA tournament appearances. Closing Time - Thomas Pauly has recorded each of Princeton's four saves this season, including two in the four-game series against the Quakers. Pauly has hurled 12 innings, giving up 11 hits and one earned run, while recording 15 strikeouts.
I'm Honored - Freshman Adam Balkan was named the IvyLeagueSports.com Rookie of the Week on April 2. He was 6-for-13 in four games with the Quakers. The starting centerfielder, Balkan went 2-for-3 with two RBI in Princeton's 8-4 win to close out the weekend. Balkan is batting .299 through the first 19 games of the season on 23-for-77 hitting. He has two doubles, two triples, nine RBI and 11 runs scored.
O' Captain, My Captain - Shortstop Pat Boran is Princeton's captain for the 2002 season. He was named to the IvyLeagueSports.com honor roll on April 2 after batting 5-for-13 with two RBI and five runs scored in the four-game sweep of Penn. Boran is batting .296 on 21-of-71 hitting with a team-leading 16 RBI in 18 games this season.
