Men's Golf Team Set To Host Princeton Invitational

Princeton, N.J. - The Princeton University men's golf team will host the 2002 Princeton Invitational this Friday-Saturday, April 12-13 at the Springdale Golf Club in Princeton, N.J. The tournament will feature 36 holes on the par 71, 6,400-yard course.
This year's teams include Columbia, Colgate, George Mason, Georgetown, Iona, James Madison, Lehigh, Navy, Pennsylvania, Penn State, Richmond, Rider, Rutgers, Seton Hall, St. John's Temple, Villanova, William & Mary and Princeton.
"I'm thrilled that we have 13 of the top 14 teams in the district competing here this weekend," says Princeton men's golf coach Will Green. "This may be the strongest District II field in any tournament this year."
St. John's returns as defending champions, winning the 2001 Princeton Invitational with a team score of 286. The Tigers placed in a tie for second with Georgetown and Seton Hall, shooting a two day total of 290.
The 2002 tournament is 18 holes each day with an 8 a.m. start on the first and 10th tees.
