Four Tigers Earn NJCBA All-State And All-Rookie Honors

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - Pat Boran (Sr., Pottsville, PA) and Ross Ohlendorf (Fr., Austin, TX) were named to the New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association second-team all-state on May 15. Ohlendorf also earned all-rookie honors, and was joined by Adam Balkan (Fr., Roslyn, NY) and Ryan Eldridge (Fr., Stafford, VA) on the all-rookie squad.
Boran, also a first-team All-Ivy selection this season, has his name all over the Princeton record books. He closes out his career in first place for career hits (206), games played (177), at bats (635) and runs scored (143).
Ohlendorf recently claimed IvyLeagueSports.com Rookie of the Year honors, while being named to the second-team All-Ivy. He finished third in the league with a 3.02 ERA en route to a 6-3 record, the best amongst Princeton starters. In 52.2 innings on the mound, Ohlendorf recorded a team-leading 51 strikeouts.
Balkan, Princeton's centerfielder, was the only Tiger to start all 45 games this season. He finished with a team-leading .313 average and a team-high 55 hits. Balkan was a honorable mention All-Ivy selection
Eldridge, also named to the second-team All-Ivy, was a constant for the Tigers at first base this season. He finished third on the team with a .298 average over 43 games.
Princeton closed out its season with two losses at Harvard in the Ivy League Championship Series. The Tigers clinched their seventh-consecutive Gehrig Division title en route to a 22-23 record. They had won two straight Ivy titles prior to the losses against the Crimson.
