PRINCETON, NJ - Scott Hindman (Inverness, Ill.), a lefthanded pitcher who was drafted by the Anaheim Angels in the 22nd round of the Major League Baseball draft, signed a contract with the club on Thursday. The 654th overall pick in June's draft, Hindman will play for the Provo Angels of the Pioneer League for the remainder of the summer.
Contract terms were undisclosed, but Hindman, will return to Princeton to close out his senior year and graduate with his class in June.
Hindman returned to the mound in 2002 after making just one appearance in 2001. He missed the remainder of that season after having Tommy John surgery on his elbow. This season he threw seven innings and finished with a 15.43 ERA. Hindman surrendered just two hits, while walking 11 and striking out 13 in his seven appearances.
Princeton won its seventh-consecutive Gehrig Division title to advance to the Ivy League Championship Series, where it lost to Harvard 5-1 and 2-1. The Tigers closed out the season with a 22-23 record.
