The excitement of Ivy League football is just around the corner, and Princeton fans will have a number of ways to follow all the action of the 2002 Tiger season. If you can't be there live to cheer on the Orange and Black, here is all the pertinent information you'll need.
Each game will be broadcast live on WBUD AM 1260, with Ed Benkin doing play-by-play and Jerry Price doing color commentary. If you live outside of the Central Jersey/Bucks County listening area, you can access the broadcasts live on the Princeton athletics web site. To do this, you will need to sign up for the new Tigers Pass. Information on this new option is located at the bottom of this release.
Each of the six home games will be televised by RCN, a local cable affiliate. These broadcasts will be videostreamed and will be available on the web page. The Tigers Pass will allow you to access this option as well. On gameday, there will be a link to both the audio and video broadcasts located on both the front page of www.GoPrincetonTigers.com and on the football schedule page. Four home games will be televised on the CN8 network, which is based out of Philadelphia. These games will be Lafayette (9/28), Brown (10/19), Harvard (10/26) and Penn (11/9).
The Ivy League recently announced that the YES Network will produce and broadcast four Ivy League football games live. Each of the eight Ivy League teams will be shown once during the 2002 season. Princeton fans will get to watch the season finale against Dartmouth (11/23) on the YES Network, which is also available on DirecTV.
Two Princeton home games are currently available on satellite. The home opener against Lafayette, which begins at 7:30 p.m., will be the first game available on satellite. The coordinates are: KU band, AMC 2 (formerly GE 2), Transponder K6, Downlink frequency 11,820, Horizontal. The feed for the game will begin at 7 p.m. The Penn game will also be available on satellite. As many as two other home games could potentially be aired on satellite as well; check back on the Princeton athletics web site for more information.
