Box Score
Dartmouth went into its 467th minute of the season without scoring a goal. When the Big Green finally broke through, it came at a most opportune time.
Rob Daly scored Dartmouth's first goal of the season at the 1:07 mark of sudden death overtime Saturday, giving the Big Green a 1-0 win over Princeton at Lourie-Love Field in the Ivy League opener for both.
Dartmouth, who had been shut out in each of its first four games and through regulation of its fifth, scored when Daly took a long feed and came in all alone on Princeton freshman goalie Eric White for the winner. White was playing in place of his All-America brother Jason, a senior who was injured in the 13th minute.
Princeton's best chance came on a shot from Gianfranco Tripicchio that was saved by Doug Carr on his only save of the night. Dartmouth outshot Princeton 5-4 in a game that was played mostly in the midfield.
Princeton, the defending Ivy champion, slipped to 1-3-2 with the loss.
