Emily Behncke, the 2002 Ivy League women's soccer Rookie of the Year, and her classmate Maura Gallagher will compete later this month at a tryout tournament in California for spots on two national teams.
Behncke and Gallagher will play for the Region I team in the tournament, which features teams from four regions. These tournaments will help identify players to be selected for the national Under-19 and Under-21 teams.
Behncke was a second-team All-Ivy pick in addition to earning Rookie of the Year honors this past year. She scored five goals as a freshman.
Gallagher was second on the team in assists with four, and she had three goals as well.
Princeton finished the season 13-3-1, won its first outright Ivy League championship and advanced to the NCAA tournament for the fourth straight year.
