Men's Water Polo Tackles Eastern Competition This Weekend

PRINCETON, N.J. - The men's water polo team enters its most important weekend of the season to date when it travels to Navy for the Eastern Championships on Nov. 15 and 16. The Tigers have won just one Eastern Championship title (1992) in their seven years as a varsity program.
Princeton is the top seed from the South after winning the Southern Championship title on Nov. 2. The Tigers swept four wins at the tournament, including a 10-7 win over top-seed Navy in the title game. Princeton is now 21-3 overall and ranked first in the CWPA poll and 11th in the national collegiate poll.
The Tigers, led by John Stover's 48 goals and Peter Sabbatini's 151 saves, face MIT at 1 p.m. on Saturday with the winner advancing to a 9 p.m. game against the winner of St. Francis vs. Bucknell. The Eastern Championship title game is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday.
