Men's Water Polo Defeats MIT At Easterns

PRINCETON, N.J. - John Stover had three goals and ten different players scored for Princeton to lead the men's water polo team past MIT, 15-2, in the first game of the Eastern Championships at Navy.
The Tigers dominated from the start, taking a 4-1 lead after the first quarter. Stover scored two goals and Dean Riskas and D.J. Halliday each added one.
In the second quarter, Chris Kelsch scored twice and Derrick Wong and Dan Holligan had one a piece to give Princeton an 8-2 halftime lead.
Four Tigers - Reid Joseph, Jamal Motlagh, Mike Murray and Stover - scored in the third and Nicolas Seaver and Dean Riskas scored in the fourth to give Princeton the 15-2 win.
Peter Sabbatini had five saves and four steals in the first half before Gant Morgner replaced him in goal for the second half, recording four saves.
Princeton went 7 for 7 on their 6-on-5's and now advance to the second round of the Eastern Championships at 9 p.m. tonight.
