Women's Water Polo Sweeps First Day Of Princeton Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. - Jenny Edwards scored four goals and Adele McCarthy-Beauvais added three more to lead the Princeton women's water polo team to an 11-4 victory over Arizona State to conclude the first day of the Princeton Invitational. Madeline McCarthy made three saves to earn her second win.
Princeton controlled the match early and held an 8-1 lead at halftime. McCarthy-Beauvais scored twice in the first period, and Edwards, Megan Donahue and Courtney Mee added goals in the 5-0 first quarter. Edwards scored twice in the second quarter, and Melinda Martin added one.
Donahue and McCarthy-Beauvais added goals in the third period, while Edwards closed out the scoring with a goal in the fourth period.
Princeton will play California-Santa Barbara Sunday at 11 a.m. All game times for the second day have been moved up 30 minutes. The second day will conclude with a Princeton-George Washington contest, which is scheduled to begin at 4:10.
