Quakers Top Tigers In Season Finale For Women's Hoops

PHILADELPHIA, Penn. - Princeton's Becky Brown scored 27 points in the final game of her rookie season as the Tigers fell to Penn 79-69 at the Palestra.
There were four lead changes in the first half and Princeton led by as many as nine, but Penn's Jewel Clark scored eight first-half points to fuel the Quakers' comeback. Brown shot 7 for 12 and totaled 17 points before the teams entered the break with the game tied at 31.
Penn came out shooting in the second half and gained a 43-35 lead at 17:00. Katy O'Brien and Allison Cahill hit back-to-back threes to keep Princeton fighting but Penn responded with two three-point plays by Clark and Jennifer Fleischer. Led by Clark's 5 for 8 shooting, the Quakers recorded a 59 percent field goal percentage and took a 61-43 lead at 10:20. Princeton could not recover.
Cahill recorded six points, including two three-pointers, and four assists in the final game of her career, and fellow senior Maureen Lane played 36 minutes and had a solid six rebounds and three assists. O'Brien and Kelly Schaeffer each finished with 11 points for the Tigers.
Clark scored a team-high 19 points with six rebounds and four assists, while Karen Habrukowich added 16 points for the Quakers.
Princeton ends the season at 9-19 overall and 4-10 in the Ivy League.
