Issue, Md. - Nat Hoopes and Cassidy Traub tied for third overall and led Princeton to the team title at the 2003 George Washington Invitational on Monday in Issue, Md. The Tigers finished four individuals inside the field's Top-20 and won the rain-shortened tournament with a team score of 309.
Hoopes and Traub each posted scores of 75 after both scored a 36 on the front nine in today's competition. Greg Johnson tied for seventh with his 78 and David Huestis posted an 81 after finishing strong on the back nine.
The Tigers shot three strokes better than Ivy foe Yale and 16 strokes than New Jersey neighbor Rutgers. George Washington, the host school at Swan Point Yacht and Country Club, finished fourth with a score of 327.
Princeton is back in action next weekend when it competes at the Navy Spring Invitational in Annapolis, Md.
