Princeton, N.J. - Senior Jesse Gage led a record-breaking day at the EISL Championships by setting a meet record in the 50-yard freestyle and helping two Tiger relay teams do the same thing on day one of competition. Princeton earned three victories in six events and sit in second place with 15 events left for the weekend.
Gage swam the 50 free in 19.53 to qualify for the NCAA Championships later this month. He led Princeton's 200-yard freestyle relay team to an EISL Meet record by helping Mike Salerno, Jamie Leahy and Carl Hessler to a time of 1:19.01.
Gage and the Tigers weren't done there. As if two meet records in two wins wasn't enough, the foursome of Gage, Leahy, Pat Donahue and Garth Fealey swam the 400-medley relay in 3:13.63 and set yet another EISL Meet record.
The Tigers earned 427 points and sit 90 points back of first-place Harvard. Yale is in third with 247 team points. For complete results of today's events, click onto EISL Championships.
