ITHACA, N.Y. - Princeton senior wrestler Greg Parker pinned Cornell senior Clint Wattenberg with 35 seconds remaining in the match to win his second straight EIWA title and the first at the 184-pound weight class. Parker claimed last year's EIWA title at 174 pounds. Wattenberg was the defending champion at 184 pounds and came into this evening's match ranked second nationally.
Parker clinches an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships, where he was a finalist in 2002. His run through this weekend's tournament earned him Most Outstanding Wrestler honors. He heads to Kansas City for the NCAA's with a record of 23-4 on the season.
Princeton finished ninth in the final team scoring with a total of 50.5 points. Parker will be the only wrestler representing Princeton at the NCAA Championships, as no other Tiger earned a wild card bid.
The NCAA Championships will be held March 20-22 at Kemper Arena in Kansas City.
