Women's Tennis Falls At Penn

Philadelphia, Pa. - The Princeton women's tennis team fell to 8-4 overall and 1-1 in the Ivy League with a 6-1 loss at No. 41 Penn Saturday afternoon. Princeton's Neha Uberoi, currently ranked 52nd in the nation, picked up the Tigers' lone point of the afternoon with a win over Nikki Ptak at the No. 2 singles spot.
Penn began the day by sweeping all three doubles matches. The Quakers then claimed five of the six singles matches for the win. The two closest matches on the singles side came at Nos. 1 and 2, where both matches went to three sets. At No. 1, Penn's Alice Pirsu, the 17th-ranked player in the country, topped Kavitha Krishnamurthy and at No. 2, Uberoi won in the tiebreaker.
Princeton returns to the court next Friday afternoon when the Tigers continue their Ivy League season at home against No. 44 Yale. The match is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Lenz Tennis Center.
