In the first game, Princeton jumped to an early 1-0 lead in the second inning when Mike Chernoff singled home Andy Salini. Harvard drew even in the top of the sixth but the Tigers put four runs on the board in the bottom half of the inning to take a commanding 5-1 lead. Eldridge advanced to second and scored when the following batter Ryan Reich reached second on a fielding and a throwing error by Harvard's third baseman. After another out, Eric Fitzgerald tripled over the center fielder to score both Salini and Reich.
Quillian allowed seven hits and a run in six and two-thirds innings to improve to 6-4. He struck out seven batters and allowed a walk. Thomas Pauly pitched the final two and a third innings and struck out three in earning his sixth save of the season.

The Crimson answered back and took a 2-1 lead on a two-run double by Josh Klimkiewicz. Princeton knotted the game at two in the third. Adam Balkan led off with a double down the left field line and scored on a fielder's choice by B.J. Szymanski.
Harvard then posted two runs in the bottom of the inning when Klimkiewicz hit a two-run home run to right field. The Tigers got back within a run in the fifth inning when Balkan scored on a sacrifice fly by Miller.
