Princeton, N.J. - The Princeton baseball team will travel to Auburn, Ala., to play in the Auburn Regional beginning Friday. Princeton will open the tournament against the host at 7:30 p.m. The two other teams in the regional will be Clemson and Ohio State.
During the regular season, Princeton faced five NCAA tournament teams, posting a record of 1-9 in those games. The lone win came against North Carolina, while the losses came to Rutgers, North Carolina State, Richmond and UNC-Wilmington.
Princeton and Auburn will meet in Friday's second game. The two teams have never met before. Princeton has met the other two teams in the regional before. Princeton has met Clemson once, that coming in the 1991 Northeast Regional in Orono, Maine, won by Clemson 13-5. Also, Princeton has met Ohio State three times, with the Buckeyes holding a 2-1 series advantage. The last meeting was an 11-8 Tiger win in 1986.
