Auburn, Ala. - Here are excerpts from today's post-game press conference, featuring Scott Bradley, Jon Miller and Ross Ohlendorf, following a 7-6 loss to Clemson in the second game of the NCAA Regional.
Quoting Princeton Head Coach Scott Bradley
On the game...
"This was just a tough ballgame. It was hard fought. This was very exciting for our kids. The kids hung in there and really battled. Sometimes there's no real way of explaining things except for the baseball gods."
On Ross Ohlendorf...
"You all got a chance to see Ross throw. He has as much ability and about as good an arm as onyone in the United States."
On Jon Miller...
"Jonnie came in; he had five at-bats his forst year and five his second year. He's just a pure walk-on. He ended up playing most of the games last year and hit third in our lineup this year. And today, he came up in a big spot for us in the ninth and came through with a double to the wall."
On the regional tournament...
"It's really a great opportunity to bring our kids down to a setting like this to play a few games. This weekend, we gave two teams from the two premier college baseball conferences two pretty good and close games. I think we showed that we are a pretty good team."
Quoting Princeton Third Baseman Jon Miller
On the regional tournament...
"All I can really say is wow. Obviously we'd like to win, but its' a pretty good way to go out playing a hard fought game like today's."
Quoting Princeton Starting Pitcher Ross Ohlendorf
On the regional tournament...
"This was a lot of fun. I wish we could have won, but maybe next year. I really enjoyed playing here in this atmosphere."
