Nowocin Hired As Defensive Assistant Coach At Princeton

Princeton, N.J. - Joshua Nowocin, formerly the assistant coach at Sacred Heart University, has joined the football staff at Princeton, it was announced today by head coach Roger Hughes. Nowocin will work with the defense, specifically the defensive backs, and replaces Craig Young.
Nowocin spent last season at Sacred Heart and coached two all-conference selections. His pass defense was ranked sixth overall in Division I-AA, and it was number one overall in pass defense efficiency. He also assisted with special teams, as well as recruiting.
He came to Sacred Heart from Williams and Mary, where he was both a defensive and offensive assistant coach for the 2001 Atlantic 10 co-champion. He also served as a strength and conditioning coach at Virginia between 1997-1998.
Nowocin began his collegiate career at Penn State in 1992 as a running back before transferring to Virginia in 1994. He graduated in 1996 with a degree in biology in 1996 and continued his education at Virginia, where he earned his exercise physiology degree in 1998.
