Princeton Moves To 20th In Women's Soccer Poll
September 22, 2003 | Women's Soccer
Sept. 22, 2003
The Princeton women's soccer team started the season with wins in its first four games. Its most impressive result may have been in the fifth game, though it wasn't a victory.
Princeton tied then-10th ranked California 1-1 Sunday in the second game of its weekend swing through the Golden State. Largely by virtue of that result, Princeton moved up five spots in the NSCAA poll, reaching 20th this week after debuting at 25th last week.
Cal, by the way, slipped from 10th to 12th.
The 4-0-1 Tigers, who are now fourth in the Mid-Atlantic Region poll, returned from California on the red-eye Sunday night. They now turn their attention to the state of Connecticut, which provides the next two opponents.
Princeton hosts Hartford Wednesday night at Lourie-Love Field before beginning its Ivy League season Saturday night at Princeton Stadium against Yale. The Princeton-Yale game follows a men's game between Hartwick and Princeton; admission will be free.
