Princeton Defeats Florida A&M, 6-1, on Intersession Trip

TALLAHASSEE, FL - The Princeton men's tennis team won five singles matches, all in straight sets, and took the Nos. 2 and 3 doubles matches to win the doubles point on the way to a 6-1 victory over Florida A&M Saturday afternoon on its intersession trip to Florida.
Daniel Friedman had the most dominating singles performance for the Tigers, defeating FAMU's Davin Russell 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2. No. 5 Sratha Saengsuwarn and No. 6 Tim Kofol also won in straight sets, as did No. 3 Andrew Lieu (6-1, 6-4 over Yves Sinson) and No. 1 Darius Craton, who was tested in the first set by Pfungwa Mahefu before defeating him 7-5 and 6-3. Two of the three doubles matches were tight. Friedman and Craton lost a tiebreak to Russell and Sinson at No. 1, but Plukas and Saengsuwarn won a 9-7 decision at No. 3 and Lieu and David Gopstein won easily at No. 2 to help Princeton win the doubles point.
