The seventh-seeded Princeton women's soccer team hosts the opening rounds of the NCAA women's soccer tournament this weekend at Lourie-Love Field. Villanova and Yale play in the first game Friday (5), followed by the game between the Ivy champion Tigers and Northeast Conference champion Central Connecticut (7:30). The winners meet Sunday at 1.

Nice to meet you again - maybe - Princeton has defeated both of its potential second-round opponents, should it get past Central Connecticut. Princeton defeated Villanova 1-0 and Yale 3-0 in September.
Something in common - Princeton and CCSU have two common opponents. Both teams defeated Hartford by four goals (Princeton 4-0, CCSU 5-1), while Princeton defeated Yale 3-0 and CCSU lost to Yale 2-0.

How I spent my summer vacation - Princeton took an 11-day tour of Germany in August, playing four games against German pro teams and touring the country.
We're honored - Princeton had both the Ivy League Player of the Year (Esmeralda Negron) and the Ivy League Rookie of the Year (Diana Matheson) for the first time since 1982, when Lynette Prescott was the first Ivy Player of the Year and Linda DeBoer was the first Ivy Rookie of the Year.
More honored - Princeton had four first-team All-Ivy League selections: Esmeralda Negron, Diana Matheson, Romy Trigg-Smith and Emily Behncke. Princeton also had two second-team selections (Elizabeth Pillion, Janine Willis) and one honorable mention selection (Brea Griffiths).
Okay, smart guys - Maija Garnaas was a first-team CoSIDA District II Academic All-America for the second straight year. Romy Trigg-Smith was a second-team selection.
Aw, shoot - Princeton outshot its opponents 335-112.
More shoot - Princeton outshot all 17 of its opponents.
For what it's worth - Princeton is 15-0 when it scores a goal and 0-2 when it does not.
Working overtime - Princeton is 1-1 in overtime this season, having defeated Harvard 2-1 and lost to Colgate 1-0.
