Women's Basketball Looks To Improve In 2004-05 Season

The Princeton women's basketball team returns five starters to the 2004-05 season and is expected to repeat their seventh-place Ivy League standing from a season ago, according to the preseason poll announced by the league on Tuesday.
Princeton finished 7-20 overall and 4-10 in the conference earning seventh-place, last season. At home Princeton garnered a winning 4-3 record in the conference, named Rebecca Brown to the All-Ivy list and deemed two All-Rookies, Katy Digovich and Casey Lockwood.
Dartmouth is the Ivy favorite entering this season. After finishing fourth with an 8-6 Ivy record last season, the Big Green compiled 114 votes. Harvard is expected to restore their second-place campaign with 107 votes, while last year's league champions, Penn, were picked third (99).
Brown (91), Yale (62) and Columbia (41) round out the top six, while Cornell (4-10 Ivy) finished just below the Tigers with 27 votes.
Princeton is set to improve upon last year and opens its season on November 19th at home against Monmouth at 7 p.m.
