Women's Basketball Travels South For The Holiday

Princeton, N.J. -- Princeton will continue their five-game road trip schedule as the tip-off against a pair of ACC's finest. The Tigers (1-1) play Wake Forest (1-0) on Friday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. in Lawrence Joel Memorial Coliseum and then hit the road to face Georgia Tech (2-0) on Sunday, Nov. 28 at 2 p.m. in Alexander Memorial Coliseum.
Princeton Game Notes
Dark Series - Princeton trails the Wake Forest series 4-1. The Demon Deacon won 58-41, last season. Georgia Tech defeated the Tigers in the program's first meeting by one, 67-66, at Jadwin Gym a season ago.
Scouting Report - Wake Forest defeated Hampton 84-75 in overtime last weekend, meanwhile Georgia Tech handed both Georgia State (72-30) and Old Dominion (71-64) early season losses.
Conference Rulings- Princeton is 1-6 all-time against the ACC and 0-2 under head coach Richard Barron. Injury Report - Casey Lockwood continues to rehab her knee after tearing her ACL last season. Lockwood is expected to return to the line up in January.
When It Counts - Junior Katy O'Brien went 0-7 in the first 39:58 of the Monmouth contest, but with the team down three and two ticks left on the clock she made her first field goal of the game and sent it into overtime.
Never Forget - Last season's All-Rookie selection Katy Digovich picked up where she left off when she dropped 17 points on Monmouth last weekend. Digovich added five of the 12 points scored in the overtime period and finished with six rebounds on the night.
Making An Impression - Freshman Meagan Cowher made her collegiate debut with a double-double after posting 10 points and 10 rebounds in the overtime thriller against Monmouth. She finished in double figures against Lehigh with 12. Cowher was named this week's Ivy League Rookie of the Week.
Flashback - The Tigers were led by Katy O'Brien against Wake Forest, last season. O'Brien scored a team-high 14 points and teammate Katy Digovich dealt out a career-high six assists in the game.
Princeton played a close match at home against Georgia Tech. Junior Ali Smith peaked with a season-high 17 points and matched O'Brien's 17 for a team-high. The Tigers shot 52.2% behind the three-point arc, while they held GT to only 25%.
Defense Is Key - Princeton held Monmouth to just 30.4 percent shooting from the field in the first half and caused 12 turnovers. In the second half and extra period the Tigers didn't allow a basket from beyond the arc.
Long Range - Katy O'Brien nailed 61 three-pointers last year and currently sits second all-time in career three-point field goal percentage (.374) behind Sandi Bittler `90 (.471). O'Brien also averaged 9.1 points, dished out 86 assists and collected 55 steals for the Tigers last season.
