Final Stats
In a game that could either keep or break Princeton's shot at the Ivy crown, the men's soccer team defeated Penn, 1-0, at Lourie-Love Field on Saturday, senior night, to keep themselves in the Ivy race.
In the 34th minute, Ben Young beat two defenders ten feet away from the goal and sailed a low kick past Penn goalkeeper, Daniel Cepero, that found the back of the net and secured the 1-0 victory.
Penn outshot Princeton 10-9 and Cepero recorded four saves for the Quakers. Erik White tallied his sixth shutout on the season and had three stops for the Tigers.
Princeton improves its record to 8-4-4 overall and 3-1-2 in the Ivy League, while Penn falls to 6-8-2 overall and 2-3-1 in the conference. Princeton remains in third-place behind both Dartmouth and Brown with one game left in the season.
The Tigers close the regular season at Yale on November 13th in a 4 p.m. showdown.
