Junior Becky Brown And The Tigers Host New Orleans On Saturday

Princeton, N.J. -- If the weather outside is getting too cold for you, then you may want to swing past Jadwin Gym on Saturday at 2 p.m., as the Tigers (2-5) look to heat things up against New Orleans (0-7), members of the Sun Belt Conference.
Game Notes
A Time To Reflect - Princeton dropped a 56-46 contest to St. Mary's at home this past Tuesday. Sophomore Elyse Umeda had a career night with 15 points, while junior Katy O'Brien also had a career night with five steals in the game.
Scouting New Orleans - New Orleans (0-7) has fallen into a seven-game slump, as of Dec. 16, and seeks it's first win of the season. The Privateers fell 62-44 to Florida State last week. The Tigers last met New Orleans during the 2002 season, when Princeton won 71-61. Conference Rulings- Princeton is 1-1 all-time against the Sun Belt Conference and 1-0 under head coach Richard Barron.
When It Counts - Junior Katy O'Brien went 0-7 in the first 39:58 of the Monmouth contest, but with the team down three and two ticks left on the clock she made her first field goal of the game and sent it into overtime with a three-pointer after a screen found her open in the corner.
Never Forget - Last season's All-Rookie selection Katy Digovich has picked up where she left off from a season ago. Digovich leads the team in scoring (11.3) and was the only Tiger to score in double figures in the first four games this season. She dropped 17 points against Monmouth, 15 at Lehigh, 16 on Wake Forest and finished with 13 against Georgia Tech.
You Earned It - Senior Kristin Lynch earned her first collegiate starts in the back-to-back ACC weekend. She played in 29 minutes of the Wake Forest contest adding six points, two assists and one steal. Lynch then scored two points, while grabbing three rebounds against Georgia Tech.
Diaper Dandy - Freshman Meagan Cowher earned her third Ivy League Rookie of the Week accolade on Dec. 13, second-consecutive honor. She scored 12 points against Rutgers on Wednesday and 15 points in the 63-53 win over Wagner the week prior. Her first accolade came after she made her collegiate debut with a double-double, posting 10 points and 10 rebounds in the overtime thriller against Monmouth.
Lights Out - Junior Katy O'Brien scored 15 points, all from three-point range, in the 68-46 loss to 20th-ranked Rutgers. She has tallied 13 treys in the past four games and her last 36 points have all come from converting on the three-ball, including the season high 18 points off the bench at Wagner. She currently ranks first in the league with 2.17 threes a game.
Earning Prestige - Meagan Cowher currently ranks second among her teammates in scoring (11.7) and rebounds (4.1) per game. She is also sixth among the Ivy League in field goal percentage (.460).
Defense Is Key - Coming into this game, Princeton is third in the league in scoring defense (62.2). The Tigers held Monmouth to just 30.4 percent shooting from the field in the first half and caused 12 turnovers. Against Georgia Tech, the Tigers limited the Yellow Jackets to only 11 percent shooting on the three-ball in the first half.
Second Chance Opportunities - Princeton's opponents have tallied a 96-55 advantage on the offensive glass. The second chances have led to more baskets in the paint and moreover Princeton has been out-rebounded 278-203 in the last seven games.
Gone With The Wind - Junior Katy O'Brien garnered a career-high five steals in the St. Mary's contest. She leads all Tigers with 15 steals on the season.
Stepping Up - Freshman Ariel Rogers played in a season-high 30 minutes versus Rutgers. Prior to that contest she averaged nine minutes a game. Rogers tallied three assists, three rebounds, two points, two steals and one block in the game.
Charity Donors - Princeton has earned 79 opportunities to the foul line and converted on 44 of those chances. However, opponents have seen the free throw line 144 times this season.
Now Introducing - Sophomore Shelly Slemp earned her first start of the season against Georgia Tech. She scored four points in the contest and dealt out a team-high four assists.
