Women's Basketball Looks To End A Five-Game Travel Schedule At Rutgers

Princeton, N.J. -- A night at the RAC, junior Ali Smith and the women's basketball team will face #20 Rutgers Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. in Piscataway, N.J. The game will be broadcast on Patriot Cable and at goprincetontigers.com.
Princeton Game Notes
Time To Reflect - Princeton ended a three-game losing streak with their win over Wagner, 63-53. The Tigers connected on a season-high 11 three-pointers and scored 34 points from the bench in the victory.
Scouting Report - Rutgers (4-1) dropped its first game of the season, 69-61, on Dec. 5 at the hands of Old Dominion. Rutgers leads the all-time series 8-1. The Tigers fell 75-50 on Dec. 11, 1996 in he last meeting. Head coach Vivian Stringer looks for her 700th win against the Tigers on Wednesday.
Conference Rulings - Princeton is 4-16 all-time against the Big East Conference and 0-0 under head coach Richard Barron. Injury Report - Casey Lockwood continues to rehab her knee after tearing her ACL last season. Lockwood is expected to return to the line up in January.
When It Counts - Junior Katy O'Brien went 0-7 in the first 39:58 of the Monmouth contest, but with the team down three and two ticks left on the clock she made her first field goal of the game and sent it into overtime with a three-pointer after a screen found her open in the corner.
Never Forget - Last season's All-Rookie selection Katy Digovich has picked up where she left off from a season ago. Digovich leads the team in scoring (13.0) and was the only Tiger to score in double figures in the first four games this season. She dropped 17 points against Monmouth, 15 at Lehigh, 16 on Wake Forest and finished with 13 against Georgia Tech.
You Earned It - Senior Kristin Lynch earned her first collegiate starts in the back-to-back ACC weekend. She played in 29 minutes of the Wake Forest contest adding six points, two assists and one steal. Lynch then scored two points, while grabbing three rebounds against Georgia Tech.
Diaper Dandy - Freshman Meagan Cowher earned her second Ivy League Rookie of the Week selection on Monday. She scored 15 points in the 63-53 win over Wagner last week. Her first accolade came after she made her collegiate debut with a double-double, posting 10 points and 10 rebounds in the overtime thriller against Monmouth.
Second Half Comebacks - The Tigers have held their opponents to fewer points in the second half than they scored in the first half, 158/140, however, the bulk of Princeton's scoring comes in the second half, 117/135, which becomes too little too late.
Earning Prestige - Meagan Cowher currently ranks second among her teammate in scoring (11.0) and rebounds (4.8) per game. She is sixth in the Ivy League in field goal percentage (.447).
Defense Is Key - Princeton is currently third in the league in scoring defense (61.0). The Tigers held Monmouth to just 30.4 percent shooting from the field in the first half and caused 12 turnovers.
Against Georgia Tech, the Tigers limited the Yellow Jackets to only 11 percent shooting on the three-ball in the first half.
Second Chance Around - Princeton's opponents have tallied a 61-48 advantage on the offensive glass. The second chances have led to more baskets in the paint and moreover Princeton has been out-rebounded 201-158 in the last five games.
New Introductions - Sophomore Shelly Slemp earned her first start of the season against Georgia Tech. She scored four points in the contest and dealt out a team-high four assists.
