Errors Plague Tigers In 4-0 Loss To No. 9 Washington

Fullerton, Calif. - Cristina Cobb-Adams went 2 for 3 in Princeton's 4-0 loss to No. 9 Washington at the Kia Klassic Tournament at Cal State Fullerton's Titan Softball Complex. The Tigers had four errors in scoring innings for the Huskies.
After three quick innings, Washington scored two runs off two errors in the fourth. Sarah Hyatt singled to right field and advanced to second on another error before Dena Tyson walked. Tyson advanced to second on an Princeton's second error, which scored Washington's first run. Callie Bergan's sacrifice fly to center field sent Tyson home for the Huskies' 2-0 lead in the third.
In the sixth, Kristen Rivera reached on Princeton's third error before Tyson's double to center field put her in scoring position. Washington used its second sacrifice fly of the game to score Rivera and the Huskies led 3-0. Washington scored again in the seventh when Rita Roach walked, stole second and advanced to third on Dominique Lastrapes' single to left field. After Aimee Minor singled, Hyatt reached on a fielder's choice that put Lastrapes out at third but let Roach score the Huskies' fourth run of the game.
Erin Snyder had four strikeouts and gave up just five hits but Princeton struggled offensively, getting just four hits off Washington pitcher Ashley Boek. Kristin Del Calvo and Stephanie Steel each had one hit while Cobb-Adam's fifth-inning double was Princeton's only extra-base hit.
The Tigers fell to 7-6 overall and 1-2 in the Kia Klassic Tournament. Princeton plays tonight, Friday March 20 at 7 p.m. against Louisiana-Lafayette.
