Princeton, N.J. - The Princeton baseball team (14-12; 3-5 Ivy) looks to get on a roll with a pair of non-league games this week in preparation for the start of Gehrig Division play this weekend. The Tigers visit Seton Hall (8-20-1; 4-6 Big East) on Tuesday afternoon and Rutgers (16-13; 8-2 Big East) on Thursday afternoon.
Last weekend Princeton split a pair of Ivy League doubleheaders on the road. On Friday, the Tigers dropped the opening game to Yale, 2-1, before battling back to a 6-5 win in the second game. Saturday was similar as Brown posted a 14-6 win in Game 1 before the Tigers eked out an 8-7 triumph in the nightcap. Offensively, seniors Steve Young and Ryan Reich led the Tigers. Young went 8-for-16 over the weekend with three RBIs and a run scored. Reich hit two home runs, had four RBIs and doubled home the winning run in the top of the ninth in Saturday's win. On the mound, junior Brian Kappel posted a save on Friday and pitched three hitless innings for the win on Saturday.

Tuesday's opponent, Seton Hall, enters the game with a record of 8-20-1 overall and is 4-6 in the Big East. The Pirates have played eight straight games on the road and are 2-6 in that stretch with wins coming at William & Mary and West Virginia. Seton Hall was swept at Connecticut on Sunday in its last two games. The only common opponent thus far this season between Seton Hall and Princeton has been North Carolina. The Tar Heels swept both teams, taking two from Princeton and three from Seton Hall.
Last season Princeton defeated Seton Hall 5-3 in a game played at Clarke Field. The win snapped a four-game skid for the Tigers at the hands of the Pirates dating back to a 9-8 win in 1999. Reich had the game-winning hit last season as his two-run double broke a 3-3 tie in the seventh and the Tigers held on for the win. Junior Worth Lumry earned the win in the game.
