Ohlendorf Named to Academic All-District Team

Princeton, N.J. - Junior Ross Ohlendorf was one of 11 players named to the 2004 CoSIDa Academic All-District II Baseball Team. Ohlendorf becomes the third Tiger in the last three seasons to receive the honor.
Ohlendorf leads the Tiger pitching staff this season in wins with six. He is 6-3 overall and has a 3.66 ERA in 10 starts. He has pitched 59 innings and allowed 26 earned runs. He has 73 strikeouts, which ranks him 23rd nationally with 11.1 strikeouts per nine innings pitched. The potential first-round draft pick is majoring in Operations Research and Financial Engineering.
To be eligible, an athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.20 on a scale of 4.00. He must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at the institution and must have completed at least one full academic year at the institution. Sports information directors nominate eligible athletes from their schools who are named to district teams prior to being voted upon on the national level. CoSIDA has been selecting Academic All-America teams since 1952. CoSIDA's District II covers Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Princeton returns to action at the NCAA tournament the first weekend in June. The Tigers will learn of the location and opponent when the NCAA annouces the field on Memorial Day.
