Princeton, N.J. - The Princeton baseball team (24-18) travels to Rider (16-22) Wednesday afternoon for the Tigers' final tune-up to this weekend's Ivy League Championship Series against Dartmouth. The Tigers hold a 20-19 all-time record against Rider and won last year's meeting 10-2.
Princeton enters the game following a 3-1 weekend against Cornell. Princeton clinched the Gehrig Division Title on Friday with a decisive 14-2 win in the first game of a doubleheader at Cornell. The Tigers dropped the second game that afternoon, but rebounded with a sweep of Cornell on Sunday at Clarke Field. On Sunday Princeton also learned that it would meet Dartmouth for the Ivy League championship as the Big Green held off a Harvard charge and to take the Rolfe Division title.
Rider enters the game winners of five of its last six games. That stint includes three wins at Canisius, a win at Monmouth and two wins and a loss against Niagara.
Princeton and Rider have had two common opponents this season, Rutgers and Monmouth. Rutgers defeated Princeton 15-6 and Rider 7-1, while Princeton posted a 12-5 win over Monmouth and Rider topped the Hawks 4-2 last Tuesday.
