Ohlendorf Signs Pro Contract With Diamondbacks

Princeton, N.J. - Ross Ohlendorf became the fourth of five Tigers selected int he 2004 Major League Baseball Draft to begin his pro career when he signed with Arizona Diamondbacks and reported to Class A ball in Yakima, Wash., in July. Four starts later, Ohlendorf picked up his first win following five strong innings on Sunday against Spokane. Ohlendorf allowed two earned runs in the game on two hits in five innings of work. He struck out four as Yakima posted a 7-2 win. The win came in his fourth start with the Bears, the previous three outings resulting in a loss and two no-decisions.
