Men's Tennis Opens 2005 Spring Season with 5-2 Win at Georgia State

ATLANTA - Darius Craton won at No. 1 in both singles and doubles and Andrew Lieu came back from a set down to win at No. 5 singles as the Princeton men's tennis team defeated Georgia State, 5-2, in their season-opening match Thursday afternoon.
Craton split sets with Jaime Rodriguez in singles before winning the third set 6-4 at No. 1. Earlier, he joined with Josh Burman, playing his first match since 2003, to defeat Matija Sulin and Clarence Boyd at No. 1 doubles.
Lieu dropped the first set to Anze Cevka 6-3 before rebounding to tie the match and then blitz Cevka 6-0 in the third set.
Princeton also got singles wins by Hans Plukas, who fought off an early charge from Jacek Twarowski at No. 4 for a 7-6, 6-0 victory, and No. 6 Shannon Morales, who earned a hard-fought 7-5, 7-6 win over Georgia State's Daniel Balog. The Tigers clinched the doubles point when Lieu and Plukas defeated Cevka and Rodriguez, 8-6, at No. 3.
Princeton plays Georgia Tech Friday afternoon at 3 p.m.
