No. 19 Princeton Rolls Past Georgetown 7-0 To Complete Weekend Sweep
February 22, 2026 | Men's Tennis
The only opponent the 19th-ranked Princeton men's tennis team couldn't beat this weekend was the snow.
While the weekend schedule of four matches was trimmed by one due to the big storm, Princeton did manage to win the three it got to play, capping it off with a 4- win over Georgetown Sunday morning. The second match of the day, schedule against Lehigh for 3 in the afternoon, was cancelled because of the forecast.
Princeton head coach Billy Pate went deeper down his lineup for the third match in 24 hours, and freshman Sawyer Severance responded to the opportunity by teaming with classmate Jordan Reznik for the deciding doubles match at No. 3 with a 7-5 win. Paul Inchauspe and Aleksandar Mitric had already won 6-0 at No. 1, while Top Nidunjianzan and Meecah Bigun were in a tiebreaker at No. 2 when Severance and Reznik clinched the team point.
Princeton then rolled through the singles matches. Top Nidunjianzan, who moved from No. 2 to No. 1 singles while the fourth-ranked Inchauspe rested, won 6-1, 6-2 in the first of the six matches to finish. Bigun was the second across the finish line with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 5, making it 3-0.
The fourth point came from Mitric at No. 3 with a 6-1, 6-3 victory. With the match finished, the teams agreed to play out the remaining three, with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 2 from Sebastian Sec the next to end.
Severance split his first two sets and then won a straight third-set tiebreaker 10-4, and Milan Markovits closed out the 7-0 win with a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 4.
Next up for Princeton will be a quick trip south to play at Middle Tennessee State this coming Friday.
