ATLANTA - Nationally-ranked Georgia Tech won five singles matches in straight sets and earned a tough doubles point victory on the way to a 7-0 victory over Princeton in a men's tennis match Friday afternoon.
The Tigers, who had defeated Georgia State in their season opener Thursday, got off to a good start Friday when Josh Burman and Darius Craton won at No. 1 doubles over Jose Luis Muguruza and Sukhwa Young. But the Yellow Jackets eked out the doubles point when David North and Marko Rajevac defeated Andrew Lieu and Hans Plukas at No. 2, 8-6. The Yellow Jackets then won five singles matches in straight sets, though Craton did push Muguruza in a 6-4, 6-4 defeat at No. 1. At No. 4, freshman Ashwat Sarohia split sets with Georgia Tech's Zachary Rath, but Rath won an 11-9 pro-set to take that match.
The Tigers play Clemson to end their trip to the Southeast this weekend.
