PRINCETON, N,J, -- Despite shooting 57.1% from outside the arc in the first half, Princeton dropped a 61-59 decision to Penn in double-overtime. The Tigers fall to 9-7 on the season and 1-2 in the Ivy League, while the Quakers improve to 10-6 and are 3-0 in the conference.

Cowher scored the first basket in the second overtime and Penn's Jenna Markoff made a free throw to set the score at 57-56 in favor of the Tigers. Karen Habrukowich of Penn made good on an eight-foot baseline jumper to trail by one. Then with 1:11 left, she sank a three to put Penn atop 61-59. Princeton made a great defensive stop to not let Penn score with a chance to tie the game. With two seconds remaining Cowher drove to the basket and was fouled hard. Her first shot went in and rolled out. She missed the second shot in hopes of an offensive rebound but Cat Makarewich sealed the game with the defensive grab.

Princeton took its largest lead of the half, 32-24, after O'Brien sank a free throw. Habrukowich made a three for the Quakers at the buzzer to trail 32-27 into intermission.
Penn opened the second half with a 6-1 run that included a three-minute scoring drought for both teams and gave the Quakers a 34-33 lead with 15:31 left to play in regulation. Following two good free throws from both Nestor and Cowher the Tigers led 38-35.
Brown found Cowher cutting in the lane and delivered a pass that gave Princeton a 40-39 lead. However, at the 10:04 mark Penn jumped out to a 45-41 lead with a three from Joey Rhoads.
Down four with 5:33 left on the game clock sophomore Elyse Umeda nailed a wide-open three and put Brown in position to take the lead with two free throws following a Penn turnover on the next play.
After a timeout at the 1:53 mark, Umeda made a lob pass to Brown in front of the basket to lead 51-47. Habrukowich made two free throws and Monica Naltner tied the game at 51 with a jumper. Princeton had three seconds to score but its pass broken up on the inbounds play.
